For several years I am engaged in working on the subject Ring and Shadow. Starting point for all my works I did since 1993 was an object I have done in that year: A thin black ring, diameter 7 meters, fixed high above the ground, animated only by the forces of wind.
The unforeseen effect of this simple geometry, the objects feedback on me, this sudden directed force of the discrepancy Idea-Reality has become important in my occupation with processes of perception. Working with circles or deducted forms (arc, sphere, torus, square, strait line), I try to investigate the complexity of simple systems, look behind the objects surfaces for gaining unusual views, which broaden my knowledge and inspire me to make new investigations, to gather new experiences. In this sense I work in an alternating field of perception, action and reaction, myself involved in an experiment that transforms my knowledge to co-ordinate axes of unexpected spaces.

The investigations on the foreground, fixed on circles, therefore in deducted geometry, is accompanied by moving in the depth, to the background. There the clarity of rational thinking is dissolving in an endless succession of numbers of the circular number PI. I try to reshape this succession (assign the numbers to forms or frequencies with minimal personal arbitrariness) and make it visible and audible. This representation occurs in simple forms (circle, square, strait line) or oscillations.

Hilbert-space

The Hilbert-space is a dark room with a white, moving object inside. The observer cannot go in, he can only look inside through a little whole in the door. He see a white shining object, that moves in a black space and he will never know what it is, how it moves and where the space ends.
